berlin! ok first things first: i got a digital. didn't want to but getting film developed here is apparently really expensive. at kathy's recommendation i got this canon digital elf, which is small and has a good enough lens and was only $250. at first i really didn't like it, i've never liked the way digital looks (and so also i tried making all these photos look more film-like, but from now on i'm over it), and i was also annoyed because then i just felt like i had to carry the digital and my leica or contax or polaroid or something, because i don't see the digital as serious and i'll never do anything with the photos except put them up here. but then i realized that most of these photos are really stupid and who cares, plus whenever i see something that i really like i just take the photo for real and i'll see it in september. and that's fine with me. also the camera takes pretty good video which i like a lot, we've been making lots of videos, once i can get them onto youtube or something i'll put them up here. but anyways...i felt like i needed a disclaimer or something. this blog is dumb anyways so there's no reason not to shoot digital i guess. and when i get home i'll go back to film maybe. i dunno. i like this camera, it's easy, and i don't spend any money on drunk pictures which should probably be easily disposed of anyways and not burnt onto film forever and ever. ok that's it aer lingus was ok the dublin airport is very dreary, very foggy there was an air show at schoenenfeld (sic) grilling white trash fast food at first i wasn't enjoying it here, i felt very adrift, i'm living out of a bag at rach's right now, i didn't know what was going on, i couldn't figure out how to bring cameras around, but then we were biking around and going out and i met some cool people here, and i'm really liking it. and i just don't care about bringing cameras around in bags out to bars, i mean who cares about that anyways? in new york i always feel like that lame bag guy but here nobody thinks twice. it's great. i don't have photos from the last days in the states yet, coming soon hopefully, have to find a lab here. and more stuff coming soooonn... -collin got personal there for a second
